Commissioners approve leases, claims and infrastructure work; clerk and treasurer reports accepted

The board approved a string of administrative and fiscal items during the July 14 meeting. Commissioners voted to approve a lease with the City of Portland for office space at the community resource center for $350 per month for an East Central Indiana Regional Planning District community developer. They signed an updated agreement with Jay School Corporation for School Resource Officer reimbursement and approved payroll and the county home, clerk's and treasurer's monthly reports.
Financial claims approved included emergency claims to the Youth Opportunity Center for Juvenile Services ($33,945) and to Koorsen Fire ($200.66), and Owner-Occupied Rehab-related claims to EGIS ($12,586.44), Dave's Heating & Cooling ($30,750) and Mustard Seed Remodeling ($74,461.45). Commissioner Duane Monroe moved to have a Bright Speed line moved underground at the sheriff's department for $5,719 due to building damage; that motion passed unanimously. The commission also rescheduled the July 28 meeting to July 30 at 9:00 a.m. and adjourned the session at 10:05 a.m.
