Hodson Energy wins unanimous OK to extend construction dates in county economic deal

Hodson Energy asked the Jay County Commissioners to approve an extension to its Economic Development Agreement, and the board voted unanimously to do so. Company representative Kyle West said the change responds to PJM requirements and "dramatic shifts in the global supply chain," and noted "millions of dollars had already been spent on the project." The revised schedule moves the construction start date from June 30, 2026 to June 30, 2027 and the construction completion date from Dec. 31, 2027 to Dec. 31, 2028.
Commissioners said the underlying abatements and EDA terms remain unchanged aside from the timeline. Commissioner Doug Horn moved to approve the extension and Commissioner Duane Monroe seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The extension was recorded without further modifications to the agreement text announced during the meeting.
