Council approves housekeeping and capital carryover budget amendments for 2024 and 2025

Finance Director Mike Bridal presented two budget amendments during public hearings that the council approved after clarifying questions and no public comment. On the 2024 amendment he described higher‑than‑expected building permit activity and a corresponding revenue adjustment, and characterized the revision as budget‑neutral. "So it's budget neutral," Bridal said.
On the 2025 amendment staff explained carryovers from 2024 and the reallocation of savings that allow the city to move projects from 2026 into 2025. Among the items listed in the packet were a $2.5 million appropriation for Eastbound Castle Pines Parkway (Monarch Boulevard to Forest Park) and a $2.5 million appropriation for the Buffalo Trail–Monarch intersection roundabout; staff said the capital improvements fund remains positive through the planning horizon. Both resolutions were adopted by roll call.
