Grant County adopts dust abatement policy for county roads

The Grant County Court approved a new dust abatement policy May 20 establishing requirements and responsibilities for dust-control operations on county roads.
Under the policy, property owners adjoining a legally deeded county road right‑of‑way must submit a written request to the Road Department Roadmaster for approval. If approved, the Road Department will schedule, shape and compact the prescribed area based on time, equipment availability and priority; the property owner is responsible for purchasing and applying the dust abatement product.
Motion: Judge Hamsher moved to approve the policy as presented; Commissioner Rowell seconded. The motion carried (Ayes 3).
