Carosh offers $100,000 indemnity if county meets quarterly training threshold; Board tables decision

Representatives of Carosh Compliance Solutions, including President & CEO Roger Shindell and VP Dan Widmer, briefed the Board on the company's HIPAA program options on Sept. 8. County Auditor Lisa Plecker reported reference-check responses from three counties. Carosh added a $100,000 indemnification to the HIPAA Basic offering without raising the quoted price and said the indemnity requires at least 80% of county employees to complete quarterly HIPAA training to maintain coverage.
Shindell and Widmer described the main differences between Carosh's Basic and Select levels: Basic provides no dedicated Carosh consultant and relies on an 80% county setup time commitment, while Select includes a dedicated consultant and shifts the setup time split to 60% Carosh/40% county. The Board decided to table further discussion until the September 22 meeting.
