County Engineer Ryne Thornburg told the Van Buren County Board on Aug. 11 that quotes have been received and work is scheduled the week of Sept. 22, 2025, to replace piles at two bridge abutments: the bridge on Hickory Avenue north of Highway 16 and the bridge on Hawk Drive north of Farmington.
Thornburg also reported ongoing regrade work on Eagle Drive to Davis County, Timber Ave south of Bonaparte (including ditching work), and Eagle Drive between Bonaparte and Farmington. Meeting notes recorded that Grout Scouts will complete culvert lining under Route W46 during the week and will address additional culverts that need repair before leaving the county. Thornburg further noted that private haulers have been removing loads of lime from the County Quarry and that staff are monitoring that activity.
