Vanessa Holly, the town's contract and grants administrator, told the council the town was offered $46,817 in Community Development Block Grant funding from Palm Beach County to fund improvements to the Mattock Park skate park.
"This grant requires no match," Holly said, noting the town submitted conceptual designs and will return to council for construction approval after a fully executed agreement and completed design. Council approved entering the agreements and authorized the town manager to execute them and any amendments (5-0).
Public discussion touched on ensuring skateboarder input and reviewing designs from nearby parks; staff said designers with skate-park experience provided concepts and that further public outreach and engineering design will follow.
