Staff presented Resolution R-10-2025, which adopts an updated non-ad valorem assessment roll to fund the town's solid-waste, recycling and vegetation-collection services through property tax billing, citing the public-adoption requirement under state statute.
Kaplan explained the single-family (and mobile-home) residential assessment will be $347.28 per unit per year—about a $6 increase over last year—and larger multi-unit assessments will be $1.8588 per unit per year (an increase of about $0.22 per month). He said legal notices and advertisements were published as required. After brief discussion and no public comments the council moved, seconded and adopted the resolution 5-0.
Why it matters: the assessment funds regular collection services while Palm Beach County separately charges landfill and transfer-station fees. Staff said the increase reflects contractor rate changes allowed under the town’s agreement; the town will include the difference in a fiscal-year end budget amendment.
