The Town Council adopted Ordinance O‑02‑2025 on second reading June 9, prohibiting the docking or tying up of seaplanes and flying boats at any pier or dock within the town's municipal boundaries. Town Attorney Max Lohman read the ordinance title into the record and staff provided a short overview of the staff‑initiated text amendment before the council moved to approve.
"An ordinance of the town council of the town of Lantana, Florida, amending chapter 23 ... to prohibit seaplanes and or flying boats at all docks and or piers," Lohman read during the second reading. The ordinance carries standard severability and conflicts clauses and was approved by a 5‑0 vote. No members of the public spoke in opposition during the public‑comment period for the item.
