The Royal City Council voted to adopt Ordinance 26-03, approving a planned unit development district for 44 residential dwelling units after a presentation by planning staff. Alex Kovach, speaking by phone, described the ordinance and noted that the SEPA process has been completed.
Kovach said the proposal had been the subject of a hearing on Jan. 30, 2026; two residents attended that hearing and there was no public comment. "Approving a planned unit development district for development of 44 residential dwelling units," Kovach summarized in presenting the ordinance. Councilmember Garcia moved to adopt the ordinance and Councilmember Worsham seconded; the motion carried as recorded in the minutes. The ordinance becomes part of the city's land-use approvals and will guide development of the identified site.
