City staff requested and the planning commission approved postponing proposed amendments to the airport overlay sections of chapter 44 of the city code and adoption of an updated airport overlay zoning map until the July 17, 2026 planning commission meeting.
"City staff is requesting to postpone code amendments and the adoption of the updated airport overlay zoning map until the 07/17/2026 planning commission meeting," Melissa told commissioners, explaining the postponement is to ensure the local code accurately reflects the Nebraska Department of Transportation Aviation Division's updated airport overlay map. Staff noted the delay will not affect flights into or out of the airport.
A motion to postpone the code amendment passed on a roll-call vote.
