Commission approves rezoning for Arbor View 5th; developer says utilities stubbed and lots ready

The Kearney City Planning Commission voted to approve rezoning number 2026-15 for the Arbor View 5th development, a 9.29-acre proposal to create 24 lots east of Avenue R and north of 64th Street.
"Before you is 24 lots that consists of 9.29 acres," Craig Bennett, representing Fox Creek Development LLC, told the commission and outlined infrastructure that is already stubbed to the site. Bennett said a regional stormwater detention cell on the property's southern side is already constructed, and that water and sanitary sewer stubs will be extended to serve the lots.
Melissa, city staff, told the commission the Arbor View final plat complies with R-1 site development regulations, utilities can serve the lots, the annexation is consistent with city policy and staff recommended approval of rezoning, final plat and annexation as presented. The public hearing produced no public comments.
A motion to approve rezoning number 2026-15 passed following a roll-call vote.
