EDA discusses county noise ordinance rescission and possible citizen advisory committee

Members discussed recent changes to the county noise ordinance (adopted 04/07/26) and were told by Executive Director Trenton Funkhouser that the current ordinance is planned to be rescinded at the June Board of Supervisors meeting and that no replacement ordinance is proposed at this time. Funkhouser said the Board of Supervisors may appoint a citizens advisory committee to offer input on a future ordinance.
Board members stressed the importance of public engagement and a comprehensive approach to revising noise rules. Doug McMinn offered to serve as the EDA's representative to any Board of Supervisors advisory committee if one is appointed; Chairman John Anzivino said he would contact the Board of Supervisors chair to discuss next steps.
