County staff had earlier reviewed progress on a remodel of the misdemeanor probation office and updated assigned tasks among procurement, building and grounds, planning and IT staff. The commission agreed to use reserve funds rather than seek a separate appropriation to cover initial operating and fit-out costs for the new department.
The board also approved routine motions related to payroll and claims during the same meeting and set follow-up actions for the probation-office remodel timetable and procurement items. No dollar amount for the earmarked reserve was specified in the meeting minutes.
