Board approves contract to house Nebraska youth — county receives $204 per day

He said the county receives $204 per day under the contract and that neighboring counties (including Polk County) brought more than $100,000 in revenue to the facility in the last year.
Board members had no substantive objections and moved to approve the contract; the motion carried 5-0. Weber described the arrangement as routine and said the revenue helps offset detention costs and contributes to county revenues.
The contract renewal is standard annual business for the detention program; staff will continue to track placements and payments under the intergovernmental arrangement.
