Aldermen approve Maple Lane improvements and wayfinding signage with state grants

Council approved bill 3067-25, authorizing the mayor to execute a Transportation Alternatives Funds program agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission for improvements to Maple Lane (from Pine Street to Maple Avenue), including infrastructure and safer routes for nonmotorized users. The vote was unanimous.
Separately, the council approved a Surface Transportation Block Grant funds agreement (bill 3068-25) for a wayfinding signage implementation project to improve driver visibility and guidance; that vote was also unanimous. City staff noted Chuck’s efforts in securing the Maple Lane funding and asked that future bill readings be presented as the mayor prefers.
Both measures authorize the mayor to sign the state agreements and move the projects into design and implementation steps with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission.
