Jeff Miller, district V liaison for the Idaho Department of Juvenile Correction, joined by Dustin Bingham (district VII liaison), addressed the Board with juvenile justice statistics for fiscal year 2025, according to the minutes. The presentation preceded action on an intercounty agreement related to juvenile detention services.
After discussion the Board approved a Juvenile Detention Center Memorandum of Understanding with Cassia County. "Commissioner Koyle moved to approve the Juvenile Detention Center Memorandum of Understanding with Cassia County with a correction to change the year from 2027-2028 to 2026-2027 on page four, with a second voiced by Commissioner Schaeffer. Motion carried," the minutes record. The minutes also direct Assessor West to obtain a new legal description from Desert West for a property in the City of Minidoka so Clerk Page can prepare a new deed.
The Board held two executive sessions earlier in the meeting: at 10:46 AM under I.C. 74-206(1)(f) to meet with legal counsel, and at 11:40 AM under I.C. 74-206(1)(b) for personnel matters; roll-call votes to enter and exit these sessions are recorded in the minutes. The minutes list the legal and personnel executive sessions but do not provide details disclosed during those sessions.
