The Tonkawa City Council on Sept. 16 unanimously approved routine business including minutes, claims and a $2,166.67 payment to the Tonkawa Development Authority for the Economic Development Coordinator for September 2025. Mayor Stacy Burns moved to approve the primary consent items; Councilman Reece Simpson seconded and the motion carried with all members voting aye.
Council also approved several appointments recommended by city authorities. The council appointed Taylor Turner-Arndt to fill Trustee V for the Tonkawa Development Authority through Dec. 31, 2025; the motion was made by Councilman Kenneth Smith and seconded by Councilman Reece Simpson. The council reappointed Kenneth Vogt as a Tonkawa representative to the Blackwell-Tonkawa Airport Authority for a three-year term ending in 2028 after a motion by Councilman Charles Conaghan and a second from Councilman Simpson.
The recorded actions were unanimous across votes taken on the consent items, claims and the two trustee actions. The meeting included standard staff reports and moved on to other agenda items after these approvals.
