Kane County accepts $200,000 Outdoor Recreation grant to build 3D archery course

Kane County commissioners unanimously approved acceptance of a Department of Outdoor Recreation grant for up to $200,000 to develop a 3D archery course at the existing shooting complex. Taylor Glover presented the grant and told the board the project match will be provided by the Recreation and Transportation Special Service District. "Motion to accept the Outdoor Recreation Grant for the Archery Range Project for up to $200K and that once we receive the contract and our attorney has reviewed it, as long as there is nothing the attorney would bring to our attention that we authorize the chair to sign the contract," said Commissioner Celeste Meyeres when moving the item.
The motion carried with Chair Gwen Brown and Commissioner Patty Kubeja joining Meyeres in voting aye. The board authorized the chair to sign the contract after attorney review; staff will return the signed contract and any conditions to the commission if the attorney raises issues.
