Board approves dependent-audit contract with BMI Audit Services for Sedgwick County

The Board of Bids and Contracts voted to accept a one-year proposal from BMI Audit Services LLC to conduct a dependent verification audit for Human Resources, Chair moved and the motion was seconded and carried. Purchasing and Human Resources presented the RFP scoring structure and the committee's unanimous recommendation to select BMI Audit Services at a cost of $32,510.
Human Resources said the county's medical and pharmacy plans currently cover "almost 6,000 lives," and that the department has not previously performed this type of audit. "We seek outside expertise to guide our staff through this process," the presenter said. Human Resources staff estimated the project would take approximately three months. The board recorded all votes as "Aye."
