Maintenance report flags understaffing at Mist, restroom damage and field drainage needs

Maintenance Supervisor Mark Brown reported several facilities issues at the March 12 board meeting: continued damage to restroom doors, spring-sports preparations including field lining and water lines, and a need for drainage work along the back fence line of the baseball field to make it playable. Brown said he will obtain an estimate for needed drainage repairs.
The Mist Elementary maintenance update stated that "only 10 hours per week are available for Mist custodial / maintenance work which is not sustainable," and administration said they are exploring changes for next year. Board members discussed replacing restroom-door hardware rather than only dividers and suggested the district communicate cleanup expectations to outside facility users when events coincide with district tournaments.
The board agreed to further review estimates and staffing options during the budget and maintenance-planning process.
