Commissioners approve early payment in DCH EMS contract amendment to support cash flow

Daviess County commissioners approved the third amendment to the DCH EMS contract, allowing the county to pay the contract’s second installment earlier than originally scheduled to ensure the provider has capital on hand.
Secretary Nathan Gabhart explained the change is intended ‘‘to ensure that DCH has the capital on hand for when a piece of equipment may go out and to just have the cash flow on hand.’’ The motion to approve early payment was moved by TC Cook, seconded by Gabhart and passed unanimously. The amendment does not change service scope at this session; it adjusts payment timing to support continuity of emergency medical services.
