The Milbank City Council approved Change Order 2 for the Milbank Industrial Park Expansion Project on Oct. 13, adding a flushing hydrant at the west end of 9th Avenue, adjusting construction quantities and requiring an additional seed mix to meet South Dakota regulations. The change increases project costs by $25,952.30.
Councilman Craig Weinberg questioned approving the expenditure before formal funding-agency sign-off. Pat Carey, the project engineer, reported there had been contact and preliminary approval from the funding agency. After discussion the motion passed 6-0. The change order will be incorporated into project contracts and the city will follow up with the funding agency for final approval.
