City Recorder Nicole Tritten updated the Westfir City Council on key administrative items. She said the Wastewater Facilities Plan (WWFP), prepared by Civil West Engineering, is "more than 50% complete," and the consultant plans to submit the plan to the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) before September with approval expected by the end of the calendar year.
Tritten also reported she had contacted Lane County Animal Services to terminate the animal services IGA effective June 30, 2025 because no funding was budgeted for the IGA in FY2025–2026. She showed the council a parking lot striping proposal for Portal Park prepared by operator Bill Desser and an estimate from EternaLine Pavement Markings; the council discussed whether the park should be gated at night.
Council did not take immediate action on the parking proposal during the meeting; Tritten and Mayor Watson said they would review the striping layout on-site with the maintenance operator.
