The Council reviewed a letter of interest from Westfir Lodge owner and resident Jara Mouracade to fill an open council seat. City Recorder Nicole Tritten told the Council Mouracade had not yet met the six-month residency requirement for appointment, so the Council voted to allow her to participate in discussions as a non-voting member until she becomes eligible; Councilor Deretta Huey moved the measure, Councilor Linda M. Love seconded it, and the motion carried 4'''0to 0.
Tritten said the Council could vote on Mouracade's appointment at the July meeting once residency requirements are satisfied. Mouracade was present in person at the May 5 meeting.
