Portal Park rentals: MBO application approved pending permits; disc-golf tournament set for May 17–18

The Westfir City Council on April 7 approved two Portal Park rental items: approval for Mountain Bike Oregon was granted conditionally pending the city's receipt of outstanding application materials and the Forest Service permit, and the council approved the Oakridge Middle Fork Open disc golf tournament for May 17–18, 2025.
City Recorder Nicole Tritten told the council that most application materials from Mountain Bike Oregon had been received but the Forest Service permit remained pending. Councilor Deretta Huey moved to approve the MBO rental application pending receipt of all materials; Councilor Linda M. Love seconded and the motion passed 3–0.
Event organizer Jason Nehmer appeared via video and told the council the disc golf tournament is in its third year and had submitted all application materials and paid the rental fees; Council approved the tournament dates by unanimous vote.
