The Daggett County Commission RDA voted May 19 to approve a contract and authorize signature on a grant-funded restoration for Daggett County Centennial Park.
Chair introduced a contract from Utah Outdoor Recreation with a potential grant award "of upwards of a $170,000." Commissioners discussed eligible project work and match requirements; the body approved moving forward with the contract and agreed to place the ratification on the next meeting agenda for finalization.
Commissioners identified the scope of eligible work in the grant application as landscaping, signage and kiosks, groundwork and prep, striping and surface work, concrete and gravel, and related supplies. Chair said the project total would be about $208,000, comprised of the grant award, an applicant cash match of roughly $34,000, and about $4,000 in in-kind contributions (county employee labor). "This is for fencing, water tank, property, and restroom," the chair said when summarizing the work listed in the application.
The contract information recorded in the meeting included vendor number 70128HE and commodity code 9999. Commissioner Randy moved to approve the contract; the motion was seconded and carried. Commissioners discussed who would sign the contract and whether a staff member should sign in lieu of a commissioner; Randy agreed to sign if appropriate. The commission placed final ratification on the next meeting agenda to complete the signature and formalization steps.
