Chair (Speaker 2) brought forward the surplus-vehicle item and asked for details about VIN confirmation before listing. Sheriff (Speaker 4) recommended pricing the two white F-150 pickups at $14,000 with a floor of $12,000 and a two-week local surplus period; he moved the motion, which received a second and was approved by the commission. "I'll make a motion to surplus the 2 white pickups and, go with the recommendation of the sheriff, putting the price of 14,000 and not go below 12 and have it for a 2 week period," Sheriff (Speaker 4) said when offering the motion.
During the discussion Commissioner (Speaker 4) requested that $6,000 of the sale proceeds be earmarked to purchase two radar units for the sheriff's office to outfit vehicles without radars. The commission agreed to list the vehicles as-is with pickup by buyer and start the local surplus; timing was set for a two-week local sale with photos to be posted once vehicle stickers are removed.
