Bill West, another resident, added concerns about site selection and alleged ties to a nearby cement operation, warning of potential cleanup liability if contaminated fill is present. West also said neighborhood input at the zoning meeting was overwhelmingly opposed and warned that overflowing dumpsters on holiday weekends could spread trash into neighboring subdivisions. Commissioners acknowledged the volume of public opposition and emphasized safety as the primary issue to be resolved before any project proceeds; they suggested coordinating with the Utah Department of Transportation and local emergency responders to assess turn‑lane and access needs.
No formal decision was made at the meeting; commissioners said they would consider the public comments and follow up with relevant safety and permitting reviews.
