Commissioners discussed the timing: business-license applications are due Friday, and the board did not want applicants to be penalized where inspection scheduling was the cause of delay.
Officials asked staff to invoice the town for any inspection costs, and indicated the county could absorb short-term additional costs and reconcile any budget differences later. The board instructed staff to proceed with the contingency approach while pursuing a more sustainable inspection arrangement going forward.
