Township manager proposes reallocation that raises fire tax, board signals unanimous support

Klepfer told the board the change would result in approximately a $10,000 per year increase to each of the township's three primary fire companies. The manager also explained several 2024 projects will be carried into 2025, which increases the fund balance forward used to balance the General Fund budget.
The minutes record that the Board was "unanimously in favor of this proposal." Supervisors did not record a formal motion in the minutes for final adoption of the budget at this meeting; the discussion functioned as direction to include the reallocation in the draft budget materials going forward. The board also agreed to form a regional committee to meet quarterly with fire companies; Supervisors Ben R. Fiorito and Dorothy Diehl volunteered to serve on that committee.
