The board heard the first reading of Policy IKJ, a proposed artificial-intelligence policy. Administration characterized the draft as boilerplate and said it would meet with Aaron and the policy specialist to refine which provisions belong in board policy and which should be in administrative rules or handbooks; adoption could be delayed until July to allow that work.
The presenter emphasized that the first reading does not require immediate action and that supporting ARs or procedures will be developed as needed. "This is policy IKJ. It's new for us," the presenter said, noting the draft's origin as a sample many districts use and the plan to tailor it to local needs.
