"The 2nd Floor will have apartments, and the 1st Floor will be a cabinet showroom," the staff member quoted the applicant saying while describing the proposed uses. Staff noted the request is consistent with the 2019 comprehensive plan, which designates the area as downtown mixed use. The development review committee reviewed the request on April 2 and recommended approval, and the commission voted with a recorded roll call of five yes votes to forward the rezoning for council consideration (first reading May 5, final reading May 19).
