The finance director told the council staff has developed a '20 plan' focused on revenue enhancement, cost reduction and improved service delivery and said the work has produced roughly $300,000 in savings or identified opportunities to date.
He described priorities: "enhance revenues" by improving collections, "reduce cost" by finding operational efficiencies and "improve our service delivery metrics" so the city can better meet accountability measures. He said the city will work to raise its collection rate toward 99% from about 97% and pursue opportunities to reduce repetitive work and increase productivity.
The director asked departments to contribute to the effort and said staff would report back with more quantified progress at a future meeting.
