Trappe council approves small ARPA purchases, tables Lakeview Park mulch decision and seeks more street sweeper quotes

The Trappe Town Council voted Oct. 2 to use ARPA funds to purchase a desk, filing cabinets and a chair for the water/wastewater office for $1,945.31.
Administrator Erin Braband presented the quotes and said the Amazon total of $1,945.31 was the lowest after comparison with Staples; Commissioner Rose Potter moved to approve the purchase, Commissioner Michael Sullivan seconded, and the motion was unanimously approved. Braband also presented two quotes to remove existing mulch at Lakeview Park and prepare the base for rubber playground mulch; the council asked Commissioner Jeremy Newnam to request an updated price by adding a second layer of fabric and tabled the matter until the November meeting.
Council members also reviewed quotes to purchase a new street sweeper and a used street sweeper and requested additional information and more quotes from other companies before making any decision.
