"So this is a $4,700,000 project to replace all the water lines down the street," a staff member told the council while outlining the scope and schedule for the contract. Council moved and seconded the contract approval and the motion carried.
Staff said the engineering contract covers the water portion of an overall utility package and that the project is coordinated with upcoming paving to avoid rework. The chair clarified that the expenditure will come from a dedicated fund for water projects, not the city's general fund, and that those restrictions limit how the money can be used.
