Council votes to adjourn into executive session to discuss potential litigation and property acquisition

At the end of the work session Mayor Rochelle Robinson opened the floor for a motion to adjourn into executive session to discuss potential litigation and property acquisition (item 206-250). A motion was made and seconded; the council approved the motion by voice vote and took a five-minute recess before moving into executive session.
City Manager Marcia Fraser earlier asked councilmembers to coordinate about a chamber trip to Chattanooga scheduled for Oct. 15 because that date coincides with a council meeting and could create quorum issues (the council requires four members present to constitute a quorum; the mayor does not count toward that quorum). Fraser also announced there were two items for executive session this evening. Council did not disclose further details in the public session.
