Douglasville mayor and council members honored for municipal leadership training

Mayor Rochelle Robinson and several council members received certificates from the Georgia Municipal Association and the Carl Vinson Institute recognizing completion of municipal leadership training and continuing-education credits.
Michael McPherson of the Georgia Municipal Association congratulated the officials and outlined program requirements, saying, "Congratulations to each of you on these credits that you've earned and the in the recognitions that you've earned your commitment to education and learning." He noted the certificate of dedication requires 272 hours and said Mayor Robinson currently has "282 hours," remarks the mayor repeated during the meeting.
The presenters described the Robert E. Knox Municipal Leadership Institute and other leadership-development offerings as multi-day, simulation-based training intended to strengthen municipal governance. Council members who were recognized included Estes, Miller, Hudson and former council member Danley; presenters asked council and the mayor to take a group photo following the recognition.
