Mayor Rochelle Robinson opened the legislative work session by welcoming officials and introducing awards given to council members for municipal leadership training. Michael McPherson of the Georgia Municipal Association presented recognition for completion of the Robert E. Knox Municipal Leadership Institute and related certificates.
"I'm here to recognize the accomplishments of council members Estes, Miller, Hudson, and former council member Danley for their completion of the Municipal Leadership Institute," McPherson said, summarizing the program's training requirements. Eric Robinson of the Carl Vinson Institute noted certificates of excellence and credited the city's longstanding partnership with the institute. Council members and the mayor said the training equips officials with governance tools they can apply locally.
The council posed for photos and thanked GMA and the University of Georgia for the presentations. Mayor Robinson said the city takes continuing education seriously and praised council members for investing time in professional development.
