Council members reviewed a $20,000 estimate from Laser Properties LLC to replace rotted siding on the rear of City Hall, replace fascia boards, and enable installation of new gutters. The estimate also included Hardie siding for fire hardening.
Mayor Watson emphasized stabilizing the building and suggested deferring the fire‑hardening portion in favor of addressing damaged siding on the front of the building. Council members agreed the work could be paid from the City Hall Building Reserve Fund but asked staff to obtain a revised bid showing the prioritized repairs before approving the expenditure.
Why it matters: The work addresses structural deterioration and prepares the building for future replacement or repurposing; precise scope and cost will be decided after staff returns a revised estimate.
