The Town Council voted unanimously on March 12, 2026, to approve a contract change order granting J.S. Haren Company a seventy‑seven (77) day extension for the Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrades. Town staff said equipment delivery delays prompted the request; American Engineering recommended approval and South Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority approved the extension, and the revised timeline will not affect the SCIIP grant deadline.
The administration later reported that all lift stations are complete and operational except the Bay Creek lift station, which remains pending equipment delivery. A temporary treatment plant is operational and dredging is ongoing as part of the project sequence.
