A routine question during the consent agenda focused attention on an easement resolution for 15501 Garrett Road. Commissioner Burton asked about item 250122 and whether improvements were planned at that intersection. Nancy Mitchell, senior real estate officer for the county, told the board that the North Carolina Department of Transportation is doing a grade change at the intersection and that the easements before the board provide access roads on either side of 15501 to reach the elevated highway.
"North Carolina Department of Transportation is doing a grade change at the intersection of 15501 and Garrett Road," Nancy Mitchell said, explaining that the board had approved similar easements previously and that DOT requested a resolution. The consent agenda carried by voice vote; the easement resolution was recorded as part of the consent items.
