District says transit guides issued to 15 secondary schools; accessibility depends on sidewalks and shelters

"The only secondary schools where we didn't provide transit guides, it's nowhere I mean, it's Lucas, it's Neil," she said, adding that many high schools received guides in time for the school year and middle schools later in the fall.
Brookshire warned that having a route nearby does not guarantee an accessible walk from campus without sidewalk, shelter or lighting. "It's not always gonna be as it is now, you know, paved sidewalk, shelter, lighting," she said, and said the district has documented what infrastructure is present and what is missing at each school so city partners can evaluate small gap projects. Board members asked staff to improve outreach to families about the guides.
