"Durham County residents are invited to give their feedback and budget priorities as Durham County staff, management, and Durham Board of County Commissioners plan for the fiscal year 25 26 annual budget," Clerk Lehi Wallace said during the meeting. County staff will present the manager's recommended FY25-26 budget on May 12, the board will hold budget work sessions between May 12 and June 5, a public hearing is scheduled for the regular meeting on May 27 at 7 p.m., and final adoption is set for June 9. Officials encouraged residents who cannot attend in person to submit comments by email or through the online portal.
The announcement included practical details: the portal is intended to collect input on operational and capital spending priorities and will remain open through May 30; additional notices and links are posted on the county website.
