County Attorney Williamson announced selections for several advisory bodies during the April 28 meeting. Williamson said the board selected Andrea Couch for a vacant seat on the Community Child Protection/Child Fatality Prevention Team. For the City-County Appearance Commission Williamson said the board selected Naya Furtick and Israfol Brandon.
Williamson told the board there was a tie for two additional nominees and offered members the choice to re-vote that evening or hold a decision at a later meeting. Commissioners opted to proceed with the re-vote that night and Williamson distributed reprinted ballots.
Why it matters: Appointments to boards and commissions determine who advises county leadership on community standards, child-protection reviews and civic design matters. The record shows the board followed its usual process; no appeals or legal challenges were raised at the meeting.
