The North Las Vegas City Council proclaimed October 2025 as Fire Prevention Week, urging residents to install and maintain smoke alarms, practice home escape plans and keep flammable items away from heating equipment.
Jason McMullen, the city’s fire prevention supervisor, thanked community partners and highlighted outreach on fire risks posed by lithium‑ion batteries, saying fire prevention is a shared responsibility. “We just wanna thank everybody for their part in, putting that information out there and making sure that we ensure the safety of our community,” McMullen said.
