CCOE outlines plans for Prop. 28 arts funding and proclaims March as Arts Education Month

CCOE staff presented how Proposition 28 (Arts and Music in Schools) funds will be used locally and the Board adopted a proclamation recognizing March as Arts Education Month. At the Oct. 9, 2024 meeting Michael West introduced the Proposition 28 overview and art teacher Bob Kirkman reviewed county‑specific plans for arts spending and integration across grades PK–12.
In March 2025 the Board adopted Resolution 24/25‑09 to proclaim March 2025 as Arts Education Month in Colusa County, citing the ongoing implementation steps for the Proposition 28 grant and local arts initiatives that include art-integrated lessons in elementary grades and funding for coaches and specialists.
