Board members debated the Colusa County Office of Education's relationship with statewide associations throughout 2024–25, balancing dissatisfaction with the dissolution of CCBE against the services CSBA provides. In multiple meetings trustees discussed alternatives, including the newly formed Association of California County Boards of Education (ACCBE).
In early fall 2024 the Board delayed or paused CSBA dues while members researched options and the potential cost/benefit of ACCBE. On Jan. 8, 2025 the Board approved institutional membership in ACCBE (Resolution 24/25‑08). Over the spring the Board continued to engage ACCBE resources and attend webinars; by June 18, 2025 the Board approved payment of CSBA membership, Education Legal Alliance (ELA) and Gamut policy platform dues after weighing training and policy benefits for staff and the superintendent's involvement with CASSO and CASBO activities.
