Chatom schools report high attendance, holiday events and preschool enrollment

Chatom Elementary Principal Sara Cruz told the Board that November included the annual Thanksgiving Feast and a Family Literacy Night; she said district efforts to promote attendance are seeing results, with average daily attendance at about 98%.
Mountain View Middle School Principal Lauren Lanum reported that sixth-graders attended camp, that a Coffee Connection presentation covered human trafficking, and that spirit days and a staff cookie competition are planned. Chatom State Preschool Director Sandra Nunes reported current enrollments of 16 students in the morning class and 17 in the afternoon and noted a "Sing with Santa" event scheduled for Dec. 20 at 12 p.m.
