Board approves Minarets Ag purchases to expand CTE learning

The Chawanakee Unified Board approved two capital purchases for Minarets High School's agriculture program at the Dec. 16 meeting: a plasma table intended to bring student training up to industry standards and a larger-capacity generator to reduce reliance on borrowed equipment.
Principal Rhonda Corippo told the board the plasma table will let students create more intricate projects and gain applicable industry skills. The generator was described as capable of handling larger loads and modernized with current technology. Trustee Jack Thornburg moved to approve the plasma-table purchase and Trustee Barbara Bigelow moved to approve the generator; both motions were seconded and passed unanimously.
